Description
AKG P420 MULTI-PATTERN LARGE DIAPHRAGM CONDENSER MICROPHONE
The P420 is a large diaphragm, true condenser microphone that can be used in recording applications. It can be used for demanding project studio recording and has high sensitivity and 155dB maximum SPL. This microphone is well-suited for ensemble recording, grand piano, woodwind and brass instruments, as well as drums and percussion. As the P420 has a cardioid polar pattern, it is well-suited for recording a single instrument or voice.
The P420 features a built-in switchable 80Hz high pass filter and -10dB pad to accommodate for higher sound pressure levels. The 18dB/octave, 80Hz high-pass filter is useful for removing low frequency sounds like electronic hum and other unwanted low frequency noise that often gets picked up by condenser microphones. The P420’s -10dB pad is perfect for high output sources that are too loud to be accurately recorded.
Features
- 1″ dual diaphragm with switchable polar patterns for wide applications
- Adopting low noise electronics for high dynamic range
- Switchable attenuation pad for high SPL application up to 155dB
